Terms of Service
1. Agreement and Acceptance
By using any Verabyte product or visiting any Verabyte website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our products.
Verabyte is operated by an individual based in Vietnam. When we say "Verabyte," "we," "us," or "our," that's who we mean. "You" and "your" means you, the person using our products.
These terms apply to all Verabyte products: DroidMount, PhotoSift, BabyNamer, LittleSteps, CourseForge, and verabyte.io and its subdomains. Product-specific terms are noted where they differ.
2. Definitions
- Products: All Verabyte software applications, websites, and services
- Content: Any data, files, text, images, or other material you create or store using our products
- License: The right to use a product under these terms
- Subscription: A recurring payment arrangement for ongoing access to a product
- Major Version: A significant new release of a product (e.g., DroidMount 2.0), as distinct from minor updates and patches within the same version (e.g., 1.1, 1.2)
3. Products and Availability
3a. Free Products
BabyNamer (iOS / Android) and PhotoSift (macOS) are free to download and use. No account required. No in-app purchases.
We may discontinue free products at any time, but we'll provide reasonable notice where possible. Since these products work entirely offline, your existing installation will continue to function even if we stop distributing them.
3b. Paid Products
DroidMount (macOS) is available for a one-time purchase of $14.99 (USD) through Lemon Squeezy.
Your purchase includes:
- A license to use the current major version of DroidMount
- All minor updates and patches within that major version (e.g., 1.1, 1.2, 1.x)
- Access to download and reinstall as needed
Your purchase does not include:
- Future major versions (e.g., DroidMount 2.0). Major version upgrades may be offered at a discounted price to existing customers but are not guaranteed to be free.
Refunds: DroidMount purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy. Refund requests should be directed to support@verabyte.io within 30 days of purchase. We handle refunds fairly — if the product doesn't work as described, you'll get your money back.
3c. Subscription Products
LittleSteps (iOS / Android) is available for $7.99 (USD) per month, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Your subscription includes:
- Full access to all LittleSteps features for the duration of your subscription
- All updates released during your subscription period
Billing and cancellation: Your subscription renews automatically each month. You can cancel at any time through your device's app store settings (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.
Refunds: Subscription refund requests are governed by the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as they process all subscription payments. Contact them directly for billing disputes, or email support@verabyte.io if you need help.
Free trials: If we offer a free trial, it will convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel. We'll make the trial terms clear before you start.
3d. Waitlist Products
CourseForge is in development. If you join the waitlist, you're expressing interest — not entering a purchase agreement. Waitlist signup does not guarantee access, pricing, or features. Separate terms will apply when CourseForge launches.
4. Your Data and Content
You own your data. We don't claim any rights to the content you create or store using our products. Your photos in PhotoSift, your name preferences in BabyNamer, your pregnancy milestones in LittleSteps, your files accessed through DroidMount — all yours.
Local-first means you're in control. Most of our products store data entirely on your device. This gives you complete ownership and privacy. It also means:
- You are responsible for backups. If your device is lost, damaged, or reset, locally stored data may be unrecoverable. We cannot restore data that was never on our servers.
- Deleting the app deletes your data. For products that store data on-device only (PhotoSift, BabyNamer, LittleSteps), uninstalling the app will remove your data permanently.
We recommend maintaining your own backups through your device's backup system (iCloud, Google Backup, Time Machine, etc.).
5. Acceptable Use
Use our products for their intended purpose. Don't:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our products, except where applicable law expressly permits it
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense our products
- Use our products to violate any law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data
- Use our products in a way that interferes with other users' experience
- Misrepresent your identity when contacting us
This is a short list because our products are straightforward tools. Most users will never come close to these boundaries.
6. Intellectual Property
All Verabyte products, including their code, design, branding, and documentation, are the intellectual property of Verabyte. Your purchase or download grants you a license to use the product — it does not transfer ownership of the product itself.
You may not use the Verabyte name, logo, or product names in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our written permission.
7. Disclaimers and Warranties
7a. General Disclaimer
Our products are provided "as is" and "as available." While we work hard to make them reliable, we can't guarantee they'll be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for every use case. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
7b. BabyNamer Disclaimer
BabyNamer provides baby name suggestions for entertainment and inspiration. It does not constitute cultural, religious, legal, or linguistic advice. Name meanings, origins, and cultural significance shown in the app are for general reference only.
The suitability of a name — including legal restrictions on naming in your jurisdiction, cultural appropriateness, or personal significance — is your responsibility to verify. Some jurisdictions have laws governing acceptable names for children. BabyNamer does not account for these.
7c. LittleSteps Health Disclaimer
LittleSteps is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
LittleSteps is a tracking and journaling tool for pregnancy and early parenthood. The milestones, timelines, and developmental information shown in the app are general references, not personalized medical guidance.
Do not use LittleSteps as a substitute for professional medical care. Always consult your healthcare provider for medical decisions regarding your pregnancy or your child's health and development. If you have any concerns about your health or your child's health, seek medical attention immediately.
Developmental milestones vary significantly between children. The timelines in LittleSteps represent general ranges, not benchmarks your child must meet. A deviation from an in-app milestone is not a diagnosis and should not be a source of alarm — but it may be worth discussing with your pediatrician.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Verabyte's total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of our products is limited to the amount you paid to Verabyte in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
For free products (BabyNamer, PhotoSift), our maximum liability is zero, as no payment was made.
In no event will Verabyte be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, regardless of the cause of action or the theory of liability.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the limitations above apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Verabyte harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of our products.
This is proportionate: we're asking you to take responsibility for how you use the products, not to insure us against unrelated risks. We won't enforce this provision in a way that's unfair or disproportionate.
10. Third-Party Services
Our products interact with third-party services in limited ways:

When you interact with these services (making a purchase, downloading an app), their terms and privacy policies also apply. We choose partners carefully, but we're not responsible for their practices.
11. Modifications to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the version number and "Last updated" date at the top.
For material changes — changes that affect your rights, pricing, or how you use the products — we'll provide at least 30 days' notice through our website, email, or in-app notification. Your continued use of our products after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
If you disagree with updated terms, you may stop using the affected products. For paid products, we'll handle any refund fairly based on the circumstances.
12. Termination
By you: You can stop using our products at any time. For subscriptions (LittleSteps), cancel through your app store settings. For one-time purchases (DroidMount), your license remains valid for the purchased major version. For free products, simply delete the app.
By us: We may terminate or suspend your access to our products if you materially violate these terms. We'll make reasonable efforts to notify you and explain why, except where we're legally prohibited from doing so or where the violation requires immediate action (e.g., security threats).
After termination: Your locally stored data remains on your device regardless of termination. We don't have the ability to remotely delete data from local-first products. Provisions that logically survive termination (intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will continue to apply.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Any dispute arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
We don't force arbitration. If you have a dispute with us, you retain your full legal rights, including the right to pursue a claim in court. We believe that's fair.
If you're in a jurisdiction with consumer protection laws that provide additional rights (including the EU, UK, California, or Australia), nothing in these terms limits those rights. Where local consumer law conflicts with these terms, local law prevails.
We prefer to resolve disputes directly. Before filing any formal claim, please email support@verabyte.io so we can try to resolve the issue.
14. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.
