Privacy Policy
Verabyte is operated by an individual based in Vietnam. When we say "Verabyte," "we," "us," or "our," we mean the person behind the products you use. When we say "you" or "your," we mean you, the person using our products or visiting our websites.
This policy covers all Verabyte products and websites. If you have questions, email us at support@verabyte.io.
Our Privacy Philosophy
We build local-first software. That means your data lives on your device, not on our servers. We don't run analytics platforms, we don't sell data, and we don't serve ads. For most of our products, we couldn't access your data even if we wanted to — it never leaves your phone or computer.
We collect the minimum information needed to keep our products working, and nothing more. Where we do collect something, we tell you exactly what it is and why.
What We Collect
Websites (verabyte.io and subdomains)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service. It does not track individual visitors, does not use cookies, and does not collect personal information. It gives us aggregate data like page views and referral sources — enough to understand what's working, nothing that identifies you.
If you join a waitlist or use a contact form, we collect the email address you provide. We use it only for the purpose you gave it (notifying you about a launch, or replying to your message). We don't add you to marketing lists without your consent.
DroidMount (macOS)
DroidMount mounts your Android device's storage in Finder over Wi-Fi. It runs entirely on your Mac.
What we collect: Nothing directly. When you purchase DroidMount, the transaction is processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. Lemon Squeezy collects payment information (name, email, billing details) to process your purchase and validate your license. We receive your email address and license status from Lemon Squeezy — we do not receive or store your payment card details.
What stays local: All file operations happen between your Mac and your Android device. No file data passes through our servers. We have no server to pass it through.
PhotoSift (macOS)
PhotoSift helps you organize photos on your Mac. It runs entirely locally.
What we collect: Nothing. PhotoSift makes no network calls. It doesn't phone home, check for updates over the internet, or send telemetry. Your photos never leave your Mac.
BabyNamer (iOS / Android)
BabyNamer lets you and your partner swipe through baby names and discover matches.
What we collect: Nothing. All name data, preferences, and match results are stored on your device. BabyNamer does not require an account, does not use cloud sync, and does not transmit data to any server. There is nothing for us to collect.
LittleSteps (iOS / Android)
LittleSteps helps you track pregnancy milestones and your baby's early development.
What we collect: LittleSteps may require an account for subscription management and recovery through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The account information (email address) is used solely for subscription management purposes.
What stays local: All pregnancy data, baby information, milestone tracking, and health-related entries are stored on your device. We do not have access to this data. It is never uploaded to our servers.
A note on health data: LittleSteps stores information that may be sensitive to you — pregnancy dates, baby measurements, developmental milestones. We designed the app so this data never leaves your device precisely because of its personal nature. We cannot see it, access it, or share it.
CourseForge (Pre-Launch)
CourseForge is an AI-powered course builder currently in development. If you join the waitlist, we collect only the email address you provide for launch notifications.
Full data practices for CourseForge will be published before the product launches. We will update this policy accordingly.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what's listed above.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party services. Each handles data according to their own privacy policies:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not use data brokers. We do not embed third-party tracking pixels or advertising SDKs in any of our products.
Data Storage and Security
For most of our products, there is no data to store — it lives on your device, secured by your device's own protections (encryption, passcodes, biometrics).
For the limited data we do handle (emails from contact forms and waitlists, license information via Lemon Squeezy), we follow standard security practices: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access limited to the person who needs it (that's one person — the person behind Verabyte), and prompt deletion when the data is no longer needed.
Your Rights
Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (right to erasure)
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time for anything you've opted into
For EU/EEA residents (GDPR): You have all rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. Our legal basis for processing is consent (waitlists, contact forms) and legitimate interest (license validation). You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
For all users: Most of our products store data only on your device. For those products, exercising your data rights is as simple as deleting the app — there's nothing on our end to delete.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@verabyte.io. We respond within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Our products are intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
BabyNamer and LittleSteps are designed for parents and expecting parents — adults making choices for their families. While these products involve children as a subject, the users are adults.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@verabyte.io and we will delete it promptly.
International Data Transfers
Verabyte is operated from Vietnam. If you use our websites or provide us with an email address, that data may be processed in Vietnam.
For our apps (DroidMount, PhotoSift, BabyNamer, LittleSteps), your data stays on your device and is not transferred internationally.
Where data is processed by third-party services (Lemon Squeezy, Cloudflare, Apple, Google), transfers occur under those services' own data protection frameworks, which include standard contractual clauses and other safeguards.

Changes to This Policy
When we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and increment the version number. For significant changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you — through our website, in-app notices, or email if we have your address.
We won't reduce your rights under this policy without giving you clear notice and, where required by law, obtaining your consent.
Previous versions of this policy will be available upon request.
